Except for funerals and burials by instruction of UK Government due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

See: The Health Protection (Coronavirus Retrictions) Regulations 2020 which came into force on 26 March 2020.

Witnessing the funeral of a loved one plays and important role in helping bereaved families move through the grieving process and not being able to attend can have an impact on long-term health and well-being.  The Government has made it clear that it wants bereaved people to still have that opportunity, and therefore gatherings for funerals can continue – but only if they take place within strict social distancing guidelines and through the limiting of numbers attending.  In line with Government guidance, funeral services should only be attended by members of the immediate family who are not in any of the high-risk categories and are not self-isolating.  Families should also be advised to follow the Government advice to stay at home if they show any of the symptoms for 7 days if they live alone or 14 days if they live with someone who is showing symptoms.  Those over 70 with underlying health problems, or pregnant women are particularly encouraged to heed this advice.  Mourners must adhere to the social distancing of 2 metres (6 feet) apart from other persons.  Your attention to following these instructions is really important.  If you have any questions please contact the Clerk’s Office at clerk@poundstock-pc.gov.uk
